✖️Let go of the 500 word blog post 🙀⁠ ⁠ "How much for a 500 word blog?" - well, I can tell you how much it'll cost you, but chances are it isn't what you actually need.⁠ ⁠ What? Why! I'll tell you three good reasons why they're not that great:⁠ ⁠ 1. Ever seen what 500 words actually looks like? It's about 1 page long. It's damn hard for most people to build interest, show why they're the expert on a topic, and share a really interesting story in less than a page.⁠ ⁠ 2. They aren't particularly SEO friendly. Same kind of reasons above (SEO looks at *quality* of content, not just keywords). You should usually be aiming for 700 words, at a minimum.⁠ ⁠ 3. A decent 500 words is often HARDER to write than a decent 800 words. It takes massive skill to craft a piece that hits all the key points of a good blog post in 500 words or less. ⁠ ⁠ Save yourself some trouble. ⁠ Let go of that magical "500 Word Blog" that seems to float around whenever anyone talks about a blog post. Write something interesting, funny, hard-hitting or valuable in your niche instead - you might surprise yourself with how long it *actually* ends up being.⁠ ⁠ Stuck for topics to write about this week?
