For all you whole food plant-based eaters, here’s a recipe you’ll love....bacon😎😆! This is not your ordinary meat version. This is Tempeh bacon! Yummy & meat-free👍🏻 🌿 🌟 🌿 🌿 Tempeh is a fermented food with many benefits. It is highly nutritious, containing phytochemicals, essential proteins and amino acids and is unprocessed, keeping all the fiber of the original soybean. 🌿 🌟 🌿 You can find Tempeh in most grocery stores in the produce section near vegan foods. Here is an excellent recipe to start off with💃🏼 🌿 🌟 🌿 Tempeh Bacon Serves 10-12 Ingredients 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌟 • 1 8 ounce pkg of tempeh • 1/4 cup Tamari or Soy Sauce • 2 tsps liquid smoke(condiment section of grocery store). • 2 tbsp maple syrup • 1 tbsp onion granules • pinch of sea salt • pinch of black pepper • 1 tsp garlic, minced • 3 tbsp vegetable broth (for no oil version) or 1 to 2 tbsp avocado oil, etc. 🌿 🌟 🌿 Instructions 1. Prepare the tempeh block ahead of time by steaming it in a steamer basket for 15 minutes. Let cool. Slice into 1/4 inch strips on short side. 2. Prepare the marinade by whisking in a small bowl garlic, Tamari, liquid smoke, maple syrup, onion granules, salt and pepper. 3. Put Tempeh strips in a casserole dish and pour marinade over it. Marinate for a few hours or overnight in the refrigerator. 4. When ready to cook, heat a fry pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the broth or oil (carefully). Then add the Tempeh. Let cook for a few minutes and then flip and cook on the other side until golden brown and heated through. 🌿 🌟 🌿 Let me know how this recipe goes for you!
