The French curator Annick Bureaud, in her paper 'Art, science, technology: Fragments of a Colombian journey' (@artpress.revue), describes the 'Mosquito Kite Project' and 'Serotype' as 'strange objects which catch the visitors attention’, ‘attractive and funny’, ‘disturbing’, ‘playful’, and ‘monstrous chimeras’. . . . . . “I like the feeling when water surrounds my skin.⁣ ⁣ Sometimes I sat in the bathtub for a long time until the water turned cold.⁣ ⁣ The water has no shape. It accepts you the way you are.⁣ ⁣ I don’t get the same feeling anywhere else.⁣ ⁣ I’m from... a country where people believe that Queer people deserve to die, even my parents.⁣ ⁣ I am bisexual.⁣ ⁣ A country where people think artists are trash, even my parents.⁣ ⁣ I don’t have anything to love but art.⁣ ⁣ I’m scared. I’m lonely. I’m lost. But that’s okay as long as I have my ocean.⁣ ⁣ I’m sorry for existing.⁣ ⁣ 2019.9.15”⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #participatoryart

~> Final photos of my recent mural project "Create os Futuro" in New Bedford Massachusetts in partnership with @superflatnb, New Bedford Housing Authority and the Ben Rose Community. The struggle of humans to reach there infinite potential is a challenge, but is achievable. Nichiren Buddhism teaches that we all have the ability to reach our infinite potential and and obtain happiness. Working on the project I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people, from Ben Rose, especially the youth. My wish is for the youth of the Ben Rose community is to be confident in themselves and though the trails and tribulations to to stay strong and to ultimately create there own future and to be whatever they want to be in life. All of the portraits in this piece are people who live or use to live in Ben Rose, and have achieved there goals in life. Hopefully this mural will allow this conversation to continue. Shotout to @kimgoddard for the great photos! 📷 # #participatoryart superflat
