You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great ✨ I’m the type of person who gets a feeling of dread and anxiety every time I have to try something new in front of other people. “What if I totally suck at this? I probably won’t be any good. I don’t want to embarrass myself. Maybe I just shouldn’t do it.” I can’t count how many times I’ve excused myself from participating in something just because I didn’t want to fail at it. (This goes triple for anything involving sports or pretty much anything physical—my body is just NOT made for me to be an incredible athlete! 🙈) By now I'm well aware that failure is a necessary and inevitable part of being an artist. Most of us have to create A LOT of work to get somewhere. And a lot of that work is going to be garbage. We mess up. Throw it away. Start over. Try it a different way. Walk away from it. Come back. Create something new. Over and over and over. That’s the creative process. The important thing is that we continuously learn from those mistakes we do make and just keep showing up. Originally I didn’t want to share this @inkbox temporary tattoo attempt with y’all because it turned out so hilariously poorly. But I realized afterwards that I learned a few lessons about working with the ink that I can use next time. I’ve already done another attempt which turned out loads better, and I’ll be sharing it with you soon! What lessons have you learned from your failures lately, big or small? Is there an art medium you want to try but are afraid to? Did you make a big mistake in your business that changed your course for the better? Are you as terrible at sports as I am?! Let me know in the comments! #colorgram

And again.. 😂 I really love this piece, this really is me doing my own thing. The only direction I was given with this piece was "stag on my thigh" I asked if she'd mind me having free reign, making it bright and colourful, adding flowers etc and she was happy to let me crack on! I would LOVE to do more like this. I actually have another video of this with a few more close ups so let me know if you'd like to see that, I didn't want to upload it and bombard everyone with pictures and videos of the same tattoo! Let me know below if you'd like to see close ups of this one! 👇 #colorgram
