I had gotten a bunch of small scraps of hard wood from various places that were all different sizes. After some glueing, cutting, a whole lot of sanding, and a coat of cutting board wax made by my bro-in-law @bmwoodworking , I now have some great looking coasters or two very tiny cheese boards! - @travale . . . #artistresidency

Puebla Textil

Guys!! So much incredible genuine Cbaya here in Puebla! A large part of this town is entirely dedicated to fabrics! I not usually a fan of hot pink but quickly falling in love with all the bright colours here in this beautiful town! Currently commissioning a local artist in Puebla to do a screen print onto one of these bad boys in exchange for some photographs of their work. Yay for trading art, exchanging knowledge from different cultures and making friendships 🙏 Thanks again @helpmannacademy ! You lot rock my socks off (@gm_photography___ ) #artistresidency

KuBa: kulturbahnhof, Klein Warnow

Exhilarating, exhausting, challenging and meaningful. This is how I would describe my month at KuBa. Working through ancestral, fily, animal and personal trauma at this an old historic train station was so significant. Each of us carry histories within us. Some of these histories are ones we’d like to forget, to . So are we ers or healers? Everyday we move into life, towards death. When events of trauma end, are they really dead within us? How do we remove this dead, this dying to heal, rather than suffocate and ? And how do we honor and celebrate ourselves, our ancestors while removing the dead, the dying? Grad school at SAIC was tremendous, I unearthed so much that has been sitting dormant for so long. 2 weeks after graduation, Iceland was an incredible location at an old fish factory to start looking at animals and anger, animals and I didn’t know I had in me. For now, I grateful to be home but definitely left a big chunk of my heart at @kubaresidency and @fishfactoryis . Still digesting, absorbing, processing Germany, Iceland, grad school, Finland, Korea...Im going to need a lot of bandaids 🙃 Next residency will be next year in Japan at an old public bath house.
