Not sure my reaction was as gracious as it could've been this morning when Chris gently woke me from my slumbers at 8:45am with a cuppa ... a poor nights sleep then a very late night (for me) must've taken it's toll ... I was well away with the fairies in deep sleep. But I am grateful to Chris to wake me up ... if I over sleep in the morning it means a totally rubbish night ahead that resembles SAS sleep torture. Soooooo not worth the layin. . . Hill reps on the plan today... 10 minutes warm up, which didn't take long in the glorious sunshine running up a twisty turny steep hill to get to the hill rep section ... then 8 x 1 minute fast up hill with 2 minute recovery ... Hmmm ... well that felt tough from start to finish! The remainder of the gunk in the lungs meant I ran out of puff so I'm not sure I tried my hardest as I felt so out of breath. My legs felt strong though, which is reassuring considering I feel like I'm not running enough hills anymore. But having missed a few hill rep sessions on the plan due to this cold is very telling! Need to run more hills! . . I then headed the long way home through a field of lambs and onto my favourite beech wood trails. The final hill defeated me but it was over and above the call of my plan today so what the hell 🀣 The birds were singing, the sun was shining and I'm back on my favourite trails ... what more can you want? . . #womensrunninguk

Perfect way to start the bank holiday of 35 miles around the Chiltern Hills β˜€οΈ weather was literally perfection!! πŸ™Œ β€’ 2 stops - lunch and then tea and cake! (Although I resisted the cake!) Wish running was more like cycling!! I would definitely run for food. β€’ Also notice how my Aunt insisted on wearing the same jersey as me πŸ˜‚ #womensrunninguk

Calverdale 10 miler. It was hot. It was hilly. It was hard work! But it got done on a glorious day with lots of lovely friends and family supporting. Perfect way to spend a Good Friday. Big shout out to @dougie_runner for helping me push through on those last 2 miles πŸ’ͺ🏻 great training run in the bag! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ˜€οΈπŸŽ‰πŸ’š - - uk

I shocked myself this morning. After taking yesterday off running following Wednesday's 'bad run' I decided to take a second day off. 😳 I still didn't feel right, I'm not ill just exhausted. Gutted to be missing out on the glorious weather but tomorrow is a new day. I'm listening to my body and that's ok. Hoping to do @didcotparkrun with some of the in the morning. Doubt it'll be too quick but will be good to get running again. Photo here is to my last Parkrun with the buggy. Here I am about to hi-5 my son. Gotta love a good Parkrun. Hoping I'm showing my son a good example of keeping active as he's not the most sporty kid, neither was I though! #womensrunninguk

FRIDAY fun times! . . Supporting the local races always brings new experiences! Have had such a relaxing day in Maidenhead with the beauts and probably ate my way through it too . . Found out that a race belt definitely does excuberate IBS... as does stress but with that sometimes its about fucking IBS off and just getting it done πŸ™‰ . . 10 mile PB ( thanks @martha_personaltrainer ) followed by 6 lush miles with my run twinny πŸ’ƒπŸ’• @elisasrunningadventures . .

P a t i e n c e πŸ’š Some days, just getting out of bed is hard. Let alone attempting to shower dress, eat well and drink water, or leave the house. Sometimes these tasks are so daunting and difficult to do they feel impossible. When anxiety and depression take over, it can be such a draining physical and mental battle to overcome, it’s exhausting, and repeatedly I’ll tell myself I can’t do it - but another voice continues to convince me otherwise, yes - yes you can! Keep going. Keep moving. Well today is one of those days, but I managed to shower and dress, put some make up on, merely to help me feel that little bit better, this may have taken me 4 hours but I did it. I’m yet to leave the house but I’m working on it! Mental health is no joke, and it does not discriminate, 1 in 4 people in the uk will experience a mental health problem each year. High 5 to anyone who keeps keeping on βœ‹πŸ» yes, yes you can do it! πŸ™ŒπŸ»βœ…πŸ’š My positive I searched for in all this... if I can overcome my worst days, and see it pass, I too can put my mind to achieving anything that seems impossible. I shall remember this if I’m struggling next Sunday @ London Marathon.

It's been a while but I'm still around, usually just forget to put something up πŸ™„ @leightonfunrunners Friday morning social group had a massive turn out this morning and it was a lovely warm 5miles mostly away from roads! My hip feels quite tight now so I'll be stretching and doing some gentle strengthening this afternoon. I have learnt that resting it isn't always the best for it. And me and the husband have obviusly decided on a Bbq for tea seen as there is sunshine β˜€
