Today is Day 2 of and it’s all about the home and transportation. 🏡🌿💡💧🌎✈️ I must say, today has really challenged me. When reflecting on the natural cleaners, my carbon footprint, household waste, use of plastic, I’m honestly really disappointed in myself and the people I live with. When cleaning I always grab hot water & vinegar. Someone told me recently they add lemon and I thought that was a great idea! Plus it looks beautiful while it’s infusing😍 I also grab eco friendly laundry detergent.👚🧦I love adding patchouli essential oil to the non scented soap! Though aside from that, I believe my partner and I really need to start doing better. @johnwager I’m calling you out 😂 Well, I’m calling us out. Composting, reducing plastic use and really thinking before we do is something we really need to work on. Something I’m challenged with is the idea that my one step isn’t going to make a difference. That it’s going to take big changes from the higher ups. Earth needs to come first. Not convenience & wealth. Then I remember the power of when people come together. How we the people can create a greener community by making these changes together. We got this! 🙌 I’m so excited about the connections I’m making during this Seeing all of you passionate about this Earth we all share and sharing that with your own communities. Gratitude to you Ally at @sarovarayoga , for providing this space for us to learn, share & grow. What are your favourite eco friendly household products to use!?⬇️ . . . . . #saveourwater

Here's something you probably didn't know.⁣ It takes 2720 liters of water to make a t-shirt. That's how much we normally drink over a 3 year period.⁣ From the growth, manufacturing, transporting, and washing, it takes a lot of water just to get these shirts from the cotton fields down to your closet.⁣ 💦👕👚⁣ ⁣ Pretty shocking right? ⁣How many t-shirts do you have? Imagine how many t-shirts are on this planet?🤔⁣ ⁣ So how can we help?⁣ ⁣ Extending the lifecycle of our garments by 9 months can reduce the water footprint. Also, skip the drying and ironing process instead, hang your t-shirt to air dry. Another way to reduce water impact is to buy clothes made from raw, natural or recycled fiber. Find also brands that use low-impact dyes or waterless dyeing as they help in reducing pollution to our water resources.🙌⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣#saveourwater ⁣ #saveourwater⁣

The untainted beauty of a group of silent children listening for frogs over a vernal pool 🙌🏼 Never gets old. Today we listened for frogs, took water samples to test for pollution on the Anacostia, and just enjoyed the springtime sunshine ☀️ #saveourwater

After watching ‘One Strange Rock’ I’ve been SO much more aware of everything being connected. It’s not that I didn’t know everything worked together but the extent of it just blew my mind. The air we breathe, the tides, the life cycles of plants and bugs and fish and the unreallll intricacy of this earth. It genuinely humbles me to think about it all. And that might sound suuuper granola and hippie dippie but give yourself a chance to think about the magnitude of it all, like really understand it and it can seriously shift your perspective. This world is a wild wild place and we get to live in it. For this day and this moment we have this earth and eachother and I am so stinkin grateful for that.
