The Praça Dom Pedro IV is the official name of the main central square of Lisbon and the true heart of the city. But the Portuguese still refer to the square as Rossio which means common land. #portugal

On day two in Lisbon, we visted the stunning Mosteiro Dos Jerónimos. Built in the Manueline architectural style, the monastery features an exceptionally ornate and highly decorative cloister, which was an absolute marvel to see. We also went to the archaeology museum to learn more about the Neolithic to Iron Age inhabitants of the Iberian peninsula, and view the collection of gold and treasures. Afterwards, we saw the famous Monument to the Discoveries, which was a breathtaking example of early-mid 20th century design and one of my favourite things this trip (none of my pictures could do it justice) before finally viewing the iconic Tower of Belém. It was a good day. • #portugal
