Rising sea levels can be partly attributed to global warming melting glaciers and ice sheets. This causes sea levels to rise and push farther inland causing flooding. ⠀ •⠀ In the United States, approximately 40 percent of the population lives in a relatively highly populated coastal area. Within the next 25 years there will be approximately 300,000 homes and businesses at risk that could result in 135 BILLION dollars in damages.⠀ •⠀ Article: https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/sealevel.html⠀ •⠀ Follow us for more sustainability news, tips, and global updates: @ideasforus.global⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •⠀ •⠀ #climatechange

Wow! Honour the worker by choosing consciously and wearing it for longer. Don’t buy it unless you love it. Recycle don’t landfill. - 📷 @ourgoodbrands - As it’s so closely related to the decluttering and minimalist movement I thought it would be good to focus on this week. - - I’ll be doing posts and videos, focusing on how a simple, conscious, capsule wardrobe, is good for us and the planet! • • change

Reposted from @theconditionoflife - Since 1950, humans have created over 300Million Tonnes of plastic. Around 30% of that has been single-use, and ALL of it is still in the world in some form, much of it in our Ocean, landfills and our foodchain. A recent study found that almost all humans are likely to have micro-plastics particles inside our bodies! Plastics are amazing materials with amazing properties, but historically they do more harm than anything. Refuse single-use plastics at all costs, buy in bulk, bring your own containers and shop locally ♥️♥️ By the way, storing food in jars not only looks AMAZING, it also keeps food fresh longer and glass doesn't leak toxins! 🤔 . 📸 @woke_to_the_planet --- #climatechange -
