Today, people across the world are are taking part in the student-led . According to @GretaThunberg, the 16-year-old activist behind the , 4,638 marches are slated to take place in 139 countries. Climate change is settled science. It's also a matter of public health. The time to act is now. The most effective way to make a difference is to support and vote for political candidates who recognize climate change as a major global health and security threat, and who have plans and policies to do something about it. Also important: Maintain hope. Keep fighting for a healthy future. We can do this.

"Doctors call me all sorts of things. Often times I’m the 'complex, complicated, difficult patient.' ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These words over time started to hurt me. I realized what most of these doctors were communicating was 'you overwhelm me.' 'I don’t know anything about your disease.' 'You’re unfixable and I cant help you.' ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now thankfully, I have a few doctors who can handle my case with grace. And I’m working to re-write this abled story of my body being complicated, difficult, broken and overwhelming. My body actually is unique, resilient and interesting. We are doing our best together.
