A new hit the blog on Friday. It features this old (but still in stores) trench coat from @everlane Which look is your favorite?

Happy 3rd birthday to our sweet Teddy man. You love anything Lightening McQueen, to groove to rock n roll, and of course, playing with your big friend/big brother all day long. I can’t remember a life without you and you make everyone smile with your raspy voice and sweet disposition (but you save your toddler rage for us at home 😇). We love you so much!

Last week I said a midi animal print dress was a fall must-have...and it is! I bought this @rixo dress last year and am about to go home to see if so can still get some wear out of it until I get too big. The best part? You can find one at any price point. PS this jacket is part of @blaireadiebee x @nordstrom collection last year and I can’t wait to see what she releases this year! 📸 @ironandhoney

What I’m currently doing: deciding on basement flooring (the not so fun “surprise” project we had pop up this summer) and also green bathroom flooring (the boys’ full bath). . Yes, I’m keeping the original 1920s green tile (swipe to see) but we do have to repair a few cracked ones. But I’m having a hard time deciding on floor tiles. I can’t shake a marble basketweave, like we did in the master bath, (pictured here). I also put in marble hex tiles in the powder room downstairs. Should I do a different shape? If so, what’s your vote? Help! . (Master bathroom sources tagged and also here design: @kiradaviddesign 📸 @ironandhoney

Blending in with the morning gloom, but in a chic manner. More of this and my favorite fall neutral combos on the blog today! 📸 @ironandhoney

Sometimes I go through old outfit archives for inspiration—especially before I . I can’t believe this photo is from September 2017 (gulp) but I’m not surprised that I still own every piece pictured. In fact, you can still buy the jeans, shoes, and necklace (all tagged or shop via this link: ). . PS. Yes, I snipped off the hem of my jeans for the “raw hem” effect; took two seconds and I did it one morning before work in my bathroom with regular scissors—sometimes you gotta strike when inspiration hits you. . PPS I miss my old work stairwell where I’d make all my friends snap my 😂 (I’m sure they don’t miss that)

We’re a books kind of family, always have been (I mean, look at this ). Need calming down before bed? We read books. Quiet time in lieu of a nap? Go look at some books of your own. But alas, my kids, like every other kid, love them some screen time. Sometimes when I’m cooking dinner or need some peace at the grocery store, I’ll give them my phone to watch something. And now that I know of @vooks, I know they’re watching something educational. Vooks is genius, really—an app that’s a library of digital, animated books and it has all the favorites you’ve been reading to your kids for years; it’s high-quality screen time that you can feel good about. The boys have been watching them lately (I let them watch @vooks on my computer because we don’t have an iPad) and they’re obsessed (huge bonus: it’s ad free). Through September 30, @vooks is offering a free YEAR LONG subscription to Chicagoland families, thanks to Craig Robinson (Michelle Obama’s brother!). Click the link in my bio to redeem (you’ll receive subscription details via email); I have a feeling this will be your new favorite app. PS @vooks is also offering all teachers across American a free year-long subscription until September 15!

You all love these (and I love doing them)—it’s the fall @hm sweater haul! (+ one blazer). @hm makes such chic, affordable sweaters (most are under $30) and honestly, I’ve had some of my H&M and Zara sweaters just as long as I’ve had my Vince cashmere pieces! Speaking of @vince , these slouchy suede boots are from last year but they re-released them! Check out the blog for all the pieces. PS And by haul, I mean five pieces 😂

It’s been a year since this photo was taken and this room looks a bit different—larger mirror over the mantel, photo photos hung (yet still not finished), and most importantly, the drapes are up! It really does take awhile to make a house a home, right!? Also, I said a printed midi or dress (anima print) is a fall must-have and I stand by it! Still love this skirt from last year and I know if you give it a chance, you’ll really sink your teeth into the snakeskin trend (what? Pun intended? Did that make sense?) 🐍

*SOUND ON* I think they took it well 🤗🤷🏼‍♀️🤰🏼

You know what’s the best? Buying an item that you can wear season after season. Today on the blog I’m sharing this outfit and also FIVE @everlane items that I bought last fall (or the fall before that) that are still in stock. I’m sharing why I love them, how I wore them, and why they’re built to last - it’s a good one 😉 📸 @ironandhoney
