A total of 1,051 people were affected between 1 January and 5 September, 2019, the ministry of health said. Measles is a highly contagious and potentially fatal illness that causes coughing, rashes and fever. The Bahamas have been left in devastation in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. “What is the damage to Bahamas? The International Red Cross fears 45% of homes on Grand Bahama and the Abacos - some 13,000 properties - were severely damaged or destroyed. Parts of the Bahamas received up to 35in (89cm) of rain, leaving vast areas of it flooded.
