“It’s Gone” by Fascinating - Picture This (2017) @jurassicpoprex @qualitytimerecords
Fascinating is a four-piece band that is rooted in Cleveland, Ohio. Fronted by Ricky Hamilton, who is the founder of Quality Time Records (@qualitytimerecords), which is a collective, pressing plant, PR, booking agency, etc that strives to shine light on some of the most underrated bands in the area. Ricky is joined by Adam Spektor, Carter Luckfield and Marty Brass to deliver fuzzy scuzzy lo-fi garage punk straight to tape to your ears. The raw rockers manage to do more damage with their 8 track, 15 minute EP, Picture This, than most bands can do in one lifetime. Trimming the fat and only delivering the catchiest of hooks is the name of the game on this album. “It’s Gone” is the longest track on the EP, clocking in at 2:46. It immediately starts off with an earworm of a guitar riff, leaving no time to be wasted. The sluggish punk delivery and driving guitar melodies are reminiscent of Nashville’s garage punk band, Diarrhea Planet (@diarrheaplanet). The album cover artwork was created by Vinny Zazzero, a past collaborator with both Fascinating and Quality Time Records. Straying away from his more cartoonish style, he takes a stab at a more distorted and abstract style, something the guys from the band can definitely relate to. This special edition glitter infused vinyl was created by the Cleveland based girls of Wax Mage Records (@waxmagerecords), who are known for their experimental and inventive vinyl pressings.
