View keithryanfitnessdublin2's Instagram When it come to fat loss we sometimes tend to look for something special when wanting to reach our goals and completely forget about sticking to the basics.

In reality, sticking to the basics is what is going to get you your results.

Sometimes I have to tell myself to "Keep it simple, stupid" emphasis on stupid 

1️⃣ Find a way to create a calorie deficit ️‍♀️ It doesn't matter weather you follow vegan, paleo, keto, slimming world or Joe Wicks, you must find a way to take in less calories than you burn on a daily basis to less weight.

2️⃣ Be consistent 

This is such an important step as adherence is the key to long term success. Find a way you can create that calorie deficit consistently over time.

Go for the 80/20 rule on a weekly basis. 80% spot on with training and nutrition and 20% not so spot on . This keeps that little bit of flexibility in there so life when dieting doesn't become miserable 

3️⃣ Keep it simple with your food choices.

Get some lean protein on the plate.
Get some fruit or load up the veggies on the plate
Get some healthy starch in there (or not)
Get a bit of healthy fat on the plate.

That's it there's your 80% sorted.

Don't get me wrong, even though it's pretty simple, it's not always easy.
