PASSENGERS [ 2016 ], directed by #MortenTyldum.
Kinda predictible at times, and a little borring at the beginning, but surprisingly fun movie overall, which left me completely setisfied.
The spaceship, Starship Avalon, in its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as the "Homestead Colony" and transporting 5,259 people has a malfunction in "two" of its sleep chambers. As a result two hibernation pods open prematurely and the two people that awoke, Jim Preston ( #ChrisPratt) and Aurora Lane ( #JenniferLawrence), are stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from their destination.
I didn't have any high expectations going into seeing this film, and thats the best part about watching movies. Quoting #ForrestGump: "It's like box of chocolates. You never know whatcha gonna get." This here is a full-fledged film, and not a television attraction, and if you have dislikes for the morality, just remember, political correctness stops where character portrayal starts. It's the basic core of the whole drama, where two passengers wake up way too early on their space trip, and no metter how it happens, we get to find out on the way, but how the main characters are now going to deal with all of this.
Some scenes were done in a nice detail, which only adds charm to the film. A perfect combination of a thriller and melodrama genres hasn't been done this good on screen in quite some time.
Anyways, this here is beautifuly shot, emotional, and overall an exciting experrience.
Great, simple, gorgeous and highly entertaining are the four things you'll be saying after watching this movie. A well-deserved 8/10.
