Perusing through Twitter a while ago, I saw that it is supposed to be #internationalmensdaytoday, but you see, everywhere is silent about it. Even the tweets I saw weren't from Nigerians.
If it were to be #girlchildsdayor #mothersday tàbí #kinikanwomansdaysha, there'll be noise everywhere.
Is that the equality you people are craving for, if you want to be equal, be equal round about na.
Well, to ALL the men in my life, I wish I can mention or tag you all; you're all super-amazing.
I celebrate you, your hard work, your tenacity, your courageous spirit, your efforts to see that the world go round.
Thank you for all you are to the women in your lives.
Thank you for being awesome fathers, romantic boos, passionate friends and everything you are to us.
Many times, you've been told not to cry, it's even culturally wrong to show that you're emotional, wò don't mind them, be you, cry if you need to.
To the men who would seek a girl's consent before laying with her and would not rape her, thank you.
To the men who would not say "she's lazy, stupid, careless or can't do better BECAUSE SHE'S A WOMAN", thank you.
To the men who support, encourage, comfort, complement, submit to and love their women regardless of what the society is selling to us, thank you.
To you, who has chosen to love, support, care for, encourage, ME, I love you and all the packages that come with you. Thank you for being a great support system.
