The world today is not unlike the plot in some Hollywood movie where the super hero appears at the last sweaty-palm moment and manages to save the planet and its inhabitants. The only thing missing in our real-time version is the super hero; minor detail. There is, however, an abundance of villains.
Where's that masked bandit when you need him, or the guy in the blue tights with the red cape? Perhaps that’s a bit chauvinistic — maybe what is needed is a bionic woman; or perhaps a cat woman, with her feline prowess.
Maybe all this global turmoil is the way it’s supposed to be. That, in fact, the world as we know it won’t end with the sun burning out, or a meteor crashing into us, or as a result of the cumulative effects of global warming. Perhaps, like many civilizations before us, we will eventually destroy ourselves - the progression of civilization on this great planet Earth we call “Home." It can be mind-boggling when one ponders how we humans have evolved over the millennium — from crawling up and out of the jungle; learning to build fire; creation of the wheel; discovering the power of speech and the magnitude of words; to our ability to travel in space and land on the moon; understanding the makeup and purpose of DNA. So—much—progress.
Sad to think it could all be destroyed so quickly and for what? Land rights in the middle east? Religion? Politics? Oil? Those who have vs. those who have not? #paris, #instagram, #humanrights, #politics
