Okay so, if, like me, you've seen a lot of people posting about probiotics and are not totally sure what they are or what they do....keep reading! I've done some reading and spoken to my GP so hopefully I can give you a helping hand as to whether you might benefit from them.

In your gut there are a ton of good and bad bacteria, good bacteria naturally just chills in your body but sometimes  the balance of good and bad can become off and your good bacteria can get depleted - for example if you take antiobiotics, anti-depressants, over do it on processed foods or a whole host of other lifestyle and environmental factors. Probiotic supplements are an easy way of recouping the good bacteria in your gut that help with digestive health.

Probiotics can help with symptoms common in IBS, IBD and even skin and immune system problems! I have been quite open with my Instagram/friends about my sensitive stomach and my problematic skin... Over the last year, I've found the triggers of poor gut health have increased and so in turn have my digestive and skin symptoms, so I went to my GP and had a little chat with her. She suggested that, as some of the medications I take could damage my good bacteria, I could definitely benefit from using probiotics. @biomednutrition we're kind enough to hook me up with their probiotics which I've been taking for a couple of weeks now, whilst minimising the amount of processed food I'm eating and drinking more water. I have definitely seen improvements in my digestive health, so I'm going to stick with them and hopefully see some really long lasting positive changes!

Who else takes probiotics or has an opinion on them? I'd love to know what you think!

Para emagrecer com saúde é necessário ganhar mais massa magra, e os exercícios com peso são os mais indicados para isso. Os músculos também ajudam a acelerar o nosso metabolismo e, como vocês já sabem, isso é fundamental na perda de peso. Outra vantagem da musculação é que após o treino o corpo continua a queimar calorias.

Mas os aeróbicos não devem ficam de fora do processo de emagrecimento e ajudam bastante quando praticados da forma correta. A dica é que ambos sejam praticados em conjunto, sempre com a orientação de um profissional.

Vale lembrar a importância de combinar o exercício a uma dieta saudável se o objetivo é emagrecer. De acordo com uma pesquisa realizada pela Universidade de Copenhagen (Dinamarca), publicada no “The Journal of Sports Medicine”, correr cinco quilômetros por semana, combinando-os com um cardápio saudável, é um método eficaz para perder em torno de cinco quilos de gordura. Os voluntários que praticaram essa mesma quantidade de exercício sem alterar os seus hábitos alimentares perderam, em média, 3,81 quilos a menos, no mesmo intervalo de tempo.

Ou seja, não existe milagre e nem segredo. Alimente-se bem e mexa-se!
