As I finish up my week 4 of #radiation(YES, 4! Only 2 weeks to go ) and blood draw , I’m reflecting back on my #fitness #journeyduring the past almost 3 months ♀️♀️♀️ The #earth has become my gym! Although I miss #otfand #volleyballdearly, I have had a roller coaster of a ride and am #proudto be where I’m at as of #NOW!!! From being one of the boyz in Elementary school, playing school sports ⚾️ in middle school, lifting weights ♀️ in high school to just being passionate about #fitnessall my life, having not worked out intensely since August 22 (yes I remember the date! My last #workoutat #otf), it’s been tough! And then as soon as I’d think I’m ready, something would come up ♀️ whether it was #brainsurgery my withdrawal reaction to the steroids or the crazy rashes from the seizure meds, then the embryo freezing surgery, and of course now radiation and chemo and that’s not gonna stop me! I am still going to do SOMETHING and work my way back to the intensity, having compassion for myself of course in the meantime
So now my environment is my fitness #world, from #power #walks♀️to climbing stairs (double steps btw to lunges and squats to biking to running uphill, to whatever I can find that gets my heart pumping something is better than nothing!
I initially set a goal to do something every day, and then realized I was not meeting my own standards and hence letting myself down, because there are days that I do feel super fatigue or have other errands that are priority, so now I have set a new goal! Do ONLY what feels good! so I work out when #inspiredand my body is #energized! And this has freed me up to do more and push myself even further! I totally surprised myself today with the uphill bike ride and distance my mom and I went!
