View ghettogeektv's Instagram Don’t Look at the Finger is a major new moving-image work by artist Hetain Patel. The film follows a ceremonial ‘fight’ between two protagonists, a man and a woman, in the grand architectural setting of a church. The way the characters communicate is a feat of choreography that combines Kung Fu with signed languages to express a ritualistic coming together. .

View theyoungempire_'s Instagram A documentary about Earl Lloyd, the NBA’s First black player, will hit the big screen next year, it has been confirmed.
.
The First to Do It brings together current NBA players including Carmelo Anthony, Kawhi Leonard and Chris Paul as well as Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson, Dave Bing and Bob Lanier to celebrate and examine the moments that created the league and country we know today.
.
On October 31, 1950, 21-year-old Earl became the first African-American to play in an NBA game when he takes the court in the season opener for the Washington Capitols.
.
Joining an all-white team was intimidating, Earl remembered, but his teammates—most of whom had played on integrated college teams—were immediately welcoming.
.
Some fans, however, were less kind. As the announcer read the Capitols’ lineup on that first night of the season, a white man in the front row asked: “Do you think this nigger can play any basketball?” Lloyd’s mother, who was sitting just behind the man, leaned forward and told him not to worry: “The nigger,” she said, “can play.”
.
First to Do It recounts Lloyd's journey, from growing up in deeply segregated Alexandria, Virginia, to witnessing the first black U.S. president.
.
The film is set to have its world premiere Friday at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
